HISTORICALLY THE PISTOL WAS SENT OVER TO SUPPLY THE LONDON MARKET AND HENCE IS STAMPED 'L' AFTER THE THE SERIAL NUMBERS WHICH IS THE REASON IT IS CASED WITH A LONDON CONFIGURATION AND HAS A CARRIAGE SCENE RATHER THAN A STAGECOACH ON THE CYLINDER.
